DR KATE EVANS

BM MRCGP DRCOG DFFP qualified in Southampton in 1995

Dr Evans is a Partner. She is married with two children and before deciding on a career in General Practice, Kate gained experience in a wide range of clinical specialties both in this country and abroad and has a particular interest in Women’s and Child Health. In her free time, Kate enjoys walking, foreign travel and trying to improve her tennis skills!

DR SIMON WRIGHT

MBCHB MRCGP Qualified Birmingham 2007

Dr Simon Wright is a GP Partner with a specialist interest in ear, nose and throat medicine, musculoskeletal medicine and medical law. He is a strong supporter of general practice at the core of NHS services. He chairs Dorset Local Medical Committee, and works with NHS Dorset as a GP prescribing lead. He enjoys cycling in his spare time.

DR JON MAYCOCK

MB ChB Qualified Bristol 2007

Dr Maycock is a Partner. He previously worked in the West Midlands. Dr Maycock enjoys all areas of General Practice and has an additional qualification in Women's Health and Family Planning. He also specialises in Men's Health & Urology. Outside of work he enjoys motorsports, skiing and cooking.

DR CATHERINE HUKINS

MBBS DRCOG MRCGP qualified in London in 1997

Dr Hukins first worked at Walford Mill Medical Centre in 2002 as a GP Registrar and we were very pleased that she returned a few years later to join the team permanently. Her specialist interests include Women's Health (DRCOG) and Dermatology (DipDerm).

DR SUMIT AGGARWAL

MBBS, MRCGP, DROG, Cert in NSV

Dr Aggarwal qualified in India in 1999 and completed GP training at Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester and has recently moved from West Dorset with his wife and two children after being a GP Partner for 6 years. Dr Aggarwal has gained a wide range of experience in all areas of General Practice, in particular, respiratory diseases and is able to perform vasectomies.

DR SAHEL WRIGHT

MBBS BSc MRCGP DRCOG

Dr Wright qualified from the Royal Free and University College London Medical School in 2006. She completed her postgraduate training at Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch Hospitals. Following this she went on to gain experience working in General Practice in Dorset and Hampshire for a number of years before joining the Practice in 2017. Her particular areas of interest include preventative medicine, sexual health, women’s health, adult mental health, musculoskeletal medicine and she is experienced in joint injections. She is married with two young children.

Specialist Nurses

EMILY RYALL

Emily is a Nurse Prescriber trained to work alongside the Doctors to treat patients with urgent, same day issues. Emily completed her Nursing Studies BSc at King's College, London before becoming a Deputy Sister at St Thomas' Hospital and Cardiovascular Disease Nurse Specialist. She moved to Dorset when she married and became a Diabetes Nurse Specialist at Poole Hospital. Emily is married with two children and in her spare time enjoys walking with the family and her labradors.

TRACEY SWEENEY

Tracey is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner specialising in primary care with extensive experience in providing comprehensive healthcare to a range of populations. With advanced clinical skills Tracey is dedicated to diagnosing, treating and managing acute conditions alongside the GPs. Tracey holds advanced certifications including Nurse Prescribing. She completed her Nursing Studies in 1999 at Newcastle University then shortly after relocated to Dorset. Tracey specialised in Trauma, Orthopaedic and Head Injury nursing then moved on to work on a Day Surgery Unit with an attached 48 hour overnight stay ward before specialising solely in preoperative assessment. Subsequently, she went on to become the Lead Nurse for preoperative assessment unit in Poole Hospital running the unit as well as mentoring junior nurses using her Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification. Tracey lives with her partner and has 3 children and two dogs. She enjoys socialising and long walks with the dogs at weekends.

Nurses

STEPHANIE STRUDWICK

Steph has been a qualified Nurse for over 20 years and joined the Practice in November 2020. She had a varied career working in Cardiology and Elderly Rehabilitation prior to this role. She has a keen interest in Asthma.

GINA HARTLEY

Gina did her Nursing degree at the University of Surrey and qualified in 1997. She worked in Guildford for a year before moving to Dorset when she worked at Poole Hospital on Medical and Surgical wards. She has been a Practice Nurse for 8 years and has a particular interest in Diabetes Care. When she's not at work she likes catching up with friends, going running and, when the weather is good, going camping.

NATALIE BOWDEN

Natalie has been a qualified nurse since 2005 and joined the Practice in September 2024. Natalie has a wealth of nursing experience and knowledge from working in a variety of nursing settings. These include Breast & Endocrine Surgery, Intensive Care, Medicine, Endoscopy, A&E and Women’s Health. She has worked with Dorset Police as a Forensic Nurse. Natalie has a keen interest in Women’s Health. When Natalie is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys walking her dogs, baking and art & design.

Healthcare Assistants

SHIRLEY BAGG

Shirley is a trained Phlebotomist & HCA who supports the Doctors and Practice Nurses by taking blood samples and undertaking routine blood pressure checks, ECG readings and health checks. Appointments for these services are arranged through Reception.

Practice Management

SARAH FAULKNER

Sarah Faulkner, our Practice Manager, is responsible for the overall management and running of the Surgery and is supported by the Patient Services and Administration Teams.

Community Midwives

The Community Midwives are responsible for antenatal and postnatal care. They run antenatal clinics held locally at the Leigh Park Children's Centre, Gordon Road, Wimborne and also make home visits. When you are confirmed as being pregnant you will need to make the initial contact via a self-referral system by contacting the Community Midwifery Service on 0300 019 2692. For further information about their services contact the Poole Hospital Maternity Unit on 0300 019 2319.

Community Nurses

Our enthusiastic District Nurses are experts in the nursing care of housebound patients. The team is attached to the Medical Centre and work closely with all the staff based there. They respond to referrals from GPs, hospital staff and other healthcare professionals. They will also respond to referrals from housebound patients who have an identified nursing need and their carers. The District Nursing team can also access many other health, social and voluntary services in the community and can help signpost patients to the most appropriate care that is available for their individual needs. The District Nurses can be contacted between 8.00am - 5.00pm on 01202 884559.

Health Visitors

They are involved with the health care of expectant mothers & children under 5, as well as Child Protection. They run baby clinics and an under one’s group. Their role involves undertaking children’s regular development checks and assessment and advice for minor illnesses.
